The Thailand Antimicrobial Resistant Organisms Database (TAROD) is an ongoing national initiative by the AMRIC aimed at establishing a comprehensive, accessible genomic database for drug-resistant bacteria in Thailand. Initiated with a focus on Acinetobacter baumannii, a critical multidrug-resistant pathogen isolated from hospitals across the country, TAROD compiles molecular and epidemiological data to support research and surveillance.
The platform is designed to serve a wide range of users—including clinicians, microbiologists, public health officials, and policymakers—by providing registered access to curated genetic information. As the project progresses, TAROD is set to expand to include additional data, ultimately contributing to improved treatment strategies and national preparedness in addressing the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance.
